Adding custom noises to OS?

I think adding a custom sound would be a good idea. We can take our favorite instruments from a vid, make it an mp3, and boom... now you can make music with it...
kinda like garage bands mobile future with making music with recordings.

This would be nice. This could kinda help if someone wanted to use a sound effect for a part of their sequence that wasn't in the OS instruments. This can be useful.

First of all, that wouldn't be a synth, a synth is an artificial sound produced using math. Second of all, copyright issues exist. Third of all, there is already a real custom synth, you just have to not be actually blind to see it

I did not mean synth, even though I did write it there. I mean like a sound that changes pitch, but I cant argue, copyright is a thing.

I guess there would be problems with copyright stuff. I thought it was about custom noises, not synths

If you want custom sounds you can add them in another software after you're done with your song

This technically would not be too difficult to add, but if we allowed sampling that would open us up to HUGE copyright issues. As others have said, offline DAWs that do allow tjis exist, and they can do it because they don't have online features where all the music is stored on our server. If we were to add this, we'd either have to pay people to go through every single sequence to find copyrighted material, or set up a robot to automatically delete sequences it detects copyright in. Both of these would lead to a lot of complaints as well meaning we'd have to set up a PR department to respond to those angry people who's sequences got deleted. It wouldn't be worth it.

Those alternative DAWs (free ones include Ardour, Cakewalk, and Reaper) are usually much more featured than OS anyway
