Yeah, good luck getting a mod team for each channel. Let alone keeping them from both going off-topic constantly.

I think one chat is more than enough, and let the mods have unilateral authority to mute/ban based on case-by-case criteria.

I understand the problem but there must be something you can do. You can start with a chat by age, for example over 20 years.
An adult chat. But it depends on how many people leave their true age in the profile and that may not be true. Let us instead
consider giving the most serious musicians / composers their own discussion channel.
