You're kidding, I've had much worse criticism than being told that something was off beat. And doing something as childish as saying that you'll potentially end your whole music making career off of a little criticism is just another way of saying that you can't handle that said criticism. Nobody's perfect, and if I've learned anything, taking criticism well is a great way of showing maturity. And this in no way is mature of you.
