Original poem: Through The Window
Through the window I did see
The earth, green with grass and trees
I did see the sun above, and its
sparkling reflection in the river
Through the window, I did see
The birds, flying loops and spirals
In the open day, under skies free
of clouds, rain or winds of woe
Through the window, I did see
A river, flowing so fast, so clean
Through the valley, and the wood
Saving from thirst happy greens
Through the window, I did see
A world of wonder, waiting for me
But the sun is falling from the sky
And I am still behind the window
Through the window I did see
The earth, green with grass and trees
I did see the sun above, and its
sparkling reflection in the river
Through the window, I did see
The birds, flying loops and spirals
In the open day, under skies free
of clouds, rain or winds of woe
Through the window, I did see
A river, flowing so fast, so clean
Through the valley, and the wood
Saving from thirst happy greens
Through the window, I did see
A world of wonder, waiting for me
But the sun is falling from the sky
And I am still behind the window
