I'd go with the 5-star system. Like/Dislike is too absolute and may be discouraging to new users of the sequencer especially if they get too many dislikes.

But then again, I think it's also relevant to consider this...
Would a 5-star system be better or worse than a like/disklike system?

I realize that most users here on OS seem pretty friendly and would probably be honest and also not too critical. But still, I think that there's enough users that it may not always be certain whether or not that would be true.

Either way, if you've even posted something on a place like imgur, you'll soon find that most people on other sites seem to give more "downvotes" than "upvotes" toward something they don't agree with (especially imgur - imgur being a very extreme example of this).

So I think it is worth thinking about. Especially if we are worried about people becoming discouraged by their ratings, maybe we should also consider the idea of simply not having a rating system at all (because, after all, having no votes is better than having bad votes).

Or perhaps there could be another type of rating system we could think of or come up with ourselves that would inspire more "upvotes" and less "downvotes" ?

But, anyway, just a thought.
I do understand where you are going with your comment though! I just thought it was worth thinking about this.
I understand this, but I think that there's nothing wrong with "downvotes" because some people (like me) want some criticism for their work from the people who view their content.

If people don't like downvotes, there could just be a "like" button. If you don't like it enough, then you can just not hit the like button.
