what is a parametric equalizer

An equalizer where each parameter of the EQ is available. You can edit frequency, q factor, and gain of either a lowshelf, highshelf, or peak. Other filter shapes as well depending on the EQ.

The EQ currently in OS is a normal EQ so the only thing available is gain and then frequency and bandwidth are locked
