Drum sampler instrument idea

I think it would be cool to have an option to use the samples from the different drum kits as separate instruments, Example: The 808 Cowbell, i feel like it would be cool to able to use it as a separate instrument and be able to play it and place notes on the grid as its own thing.

Single Sample Mode has been discussed, which will do something like that. problem is we don't know how to make something like that yet
