I like the idea of using only default options, orchestra, and/or synth and 909s, but if the normal white synth was on the table then rules wouldn't really matter because you can turn that thing into anything you want, basically. Also if there was a synth and 909 only contest everything would sound samey

Make a song with one note per instrument! Clones and detune are allowed, but the all clones of an instrument must have the same note, this is true also for drums. You can use a different note on Synth Pluck and Grand Piano, but Grand Piano clones must have the same note. You can repeat the note as often as you'd like. All clones must be within 1 semitone of detune always but you can change the pitch of all of them with markers, as long as they always are within 1 semitone up or down of each other.
