So, this website does need a whole overhaul, and here are a bunch of things I think should be added. I also saw a message saying this website will receive an overhaul, but I'm unsure when. If you could tell me when I would appreciate it. Here is my email if needed: [email protected].
  1. More Instruments
Compared to platforms like FL Studio and Ableton Live, which offer hundreds of instruments, Online Sequencer's current selection of 60 is quite limited. Adding more instruments would greatly enhance creative possibilities for users.
  2. Automation Features
Ableton Live and Logic Pro offer precise automation for volume, effects, and panning. Adding this feature to Online Sequencer would provide more nuanced control over compositions.
  3. Advanced Mixing Panel
Many platforms, such as Pro Tools, offer detailed mixing panels with per-track EQ, effects, and volume controls. This would be a game-changer for Online Sequencer, making it suitable for professional-level mixing.
  4. Customizable MIDI Import/Export
GarageBand and Cubase allow seamless MIDI import/export, making it easier to move projects between tools. Online Sequencer would greatly benefit from this flexibility for collaboration.
  5. Tempo Automation
Unlike FL Studio, where tempo can change dynamically throughout a track, Online Sequencer currently lacks this. This feature would make compositions more diverse and interesting.
  6. Chord Generator Tool
BandLab offers a built-in chord tool for creating progressions quickly. Adding this to Online Sequencer would simplify music creation for users who struggle with music theory.
  7. Collaborative Mode
Soundtrap allows real-time collaboration among users. Online Sequencer could enhance its appeal by providing similar collaborative functionality.
  8. Drum Pattern Creator
FL Studio features an extensive drum pattern tool. Online Sequencer could offer a streamlined pattern creation feature to boost beat-making efficiency.
  9. Expanded Audio Effects
Ableton Live has a vast library of effects like delay, chorus, and flanger. Expanding Online Sequencer’s effect options would greatly increase the sound design possibilities.
  10. Vocal Synthesizer
Vocaloid and Logic Pro offer robust vocal synthesizers. A basic version of Online Sequencer would allow users to add simple vocal melodies.
  11. Enhanced Looping Tool
Looperman and Ableton Live make it easy to create and manipulate loops. Adding improved looping would enhance productivity and creativity.
  12. Multi-Format Export Options
Unlike FL Studio, which supports WAV, MP3, and FLAC exports, Online Sequencer's limited export options could be expanded for broader compatibility.
  13. Note Velocity Control
GarageBand offers precise note velocity adjustments. Online Sequencer could use this for more dynamic and expressive compositions.
  14. Mobile-Friendly Interface
Apps like BandLab have excellent mobile interfaces. Online Sequencer could optimize its UI for mobile to reach more users.
  15. Customizable Instrument Library
Similar to Native Instruments Kontakt, offering customizable sound packs would empower users to create their ideal setup.
  16. Undo/Redo History Panel
Reaper provides a detailed undo history. Implementing this in Online Sequencer would help track and reverse changes easily.
  17. Grid Customization Options
Platforms like Ableton allow for custom grid settings. Online Sequencer could improve editing precision by adding this feature.
  18. Step Sequencer Mode
FL Studio's step sequencer is a favorite among producers. Online Sequencer would benefit from a simple, quick input method for repetitive patterns.
  19. Live Audio Recording Support
Many DAWs like Audacity allow live audio recording. Adding this feature would significantly improve Online Sequencer’s capabilities.
  20. Built-In Tutorials and Learning Tools
BandLab offers guided tutorials for beginners. A similar approach in Online Sequencer would make it more accessible to newcomers.
  21. Keyboard Shortcuts
Cubase and many DAWs use customizable hotkeys. Adding shortcuts to Online Sequencer would speed up workflow.
  22. Sound Layering Capabilities
Logic Pro allows intricate sound layering. Online Sequencer could offer this to let users create complex instrument blends.
  23. Genre-Based Preset Packs
Loopcloud provides genre-specific packs. Offering preset packs would speed up the composition process for various styles.
  24. Pattern Library for Quick Access
FL Studio has a robust pattern library for reuse. Online Sequencer could benefit from this to speed up music production.
  25. Scale and Key Assist
Tools like Scaler help users stay in key. Online Sequencer would improve composition accuracy by adding scale/key guidance.
  26. Auto-Save Feature
Google Docs and many cloud-based tools auto-save work. Online sequencers should do the same to prevent data loss.
  27. Dark Mode Interface
Many apps, such as Cubase, have dark modes to reduce eye strain. Offering this would enhance user comfort.
  28. Integrated Metronome
GarageBand has an integrated metronome with custom settings. Adding this to Online Sequencer would aid in rhythm creation.
  29. Pitch Bending and Glissando Support
FL Studio allows pitch bends for smooth transitions. This would bring more expressive control to Online Sequencer.
  30. Multi-Channel Audio Output
Ableton allows individual track exports. This feature would make Online Sequencer more professional-friendly.
  31. Effects Automation Control
Many platforms, like Logic Pro, allow effect automation. Online Sequencer needs this for dynamic sound shaping.
  32. Different Track Types
Pro Tools uses distinct audio, MIDI, and automation tracks. Online Sequencer could add this for better arrangement.
  33. Reverb and Space Simulation Options
Ableton offers reverb customization. Adding this would allow users to create realistic spaces.
  34. Real-Time Sound Visualizer
Many DAWs display sound visually during playback. This would make mixing in Online Sequencer more intuitive.
  35. Snap-to-Grid Customization
Apps like GarageBand let users adjust snapping. Online Sequencer could improve its note placement accuracy.
  36. Auto-Quantization
Logic Pro offers automatic quantization to align notes. This would help Online Sequencer users keep their rhythm consistent.
  37. Instrument Grouping Feature
Ableton allows track grouping for simpler management. Online Sequencer could use this for complex projects.
  38. User Profiles and Custom Setups
Reaper lets users save custom setups. Online Sequencer could benefit from user profile customization.
  39. Cross-Fading Capabilities
Audacity allows smooth cross-fades. Adding this would create seamless transitions.
  40. Live Performance Mode
Ableton is known for its live performance capabilities. Adding similar features would bring Online Sequencer to stage use.
  41. Layered MIDI Editing
Cubase allows users to edit layered MIDI. Online Sequencer could enhance speed and detail in arrangements.
  42. Keyboard Mapping Options
FL Studio lets users map keys to functions. This would speed up the workflow for Online Sequencer users.
  43. Adjustable Grid Sizes
Ableton provides detailed grid settings. Adding this would allow precise edits.
  44. Stem Export
Many DAWs offer track-by-track exporting. Online Sequencer could add this for better mixing flexibility.
  45. BPM Detection for Imported Files
Ableton detects BPM automatically. This feature would simplify tempo syncing for Online Sequencer.
  46. Waveform Editing Capabilities
Audacity allows direct waveform edits. This would give Online Sequencer more powerful audio control.
  47. Arpeggiator Tool
FL Studio features an arpeggiator for melodies. Online Sequencer could use this to help users quickly create patterns.
  48. Custom Quantization Settings
Cubase offers custom quantization. This would allow greater rhythm accuracy on Online Sequencer.
  49. Public and Private Sharing Options
SoundCloud and similar sites offer flexible sharing. Online Sequencer could add this for collaborative feedback.
  50. AI-Driven Composition Suggestions
BandLab uses AI to suggest melodies. Adding AI tools would boost Online Sequencer's creative potential.
  51. Sustain Control Feature
Allow users to extend note length for smoother sounds, similar to Ableton. This would enhance expressiveness for instruments like strings and piano.

By implementing these features, Online Sequencer could stand on par with major music platforms, providing novice and advanced users with a robust, feature-packed, and user-friendly experience. It would elevate the music-making journey and empower more creativity. Thank you for considering this list of enhancements!

I'm pretty sure given the average age of the typical OS user, most have no money to donate, so probably they aren't making a lot via donations. Even then, its a pretty unreliable way to make a living, and I would assume that our developers already have much better paying jobs and do OS development for fun.

If you'd like to sponsor the development of OnlineSequencer however please let us know!
