If you don't know what markers are, you probably haven't used them to a degree where you would run into this problem. If you're willing to read about them, here's the os wiki page for 'Markers': https://onlinesequencer.net/wiki/Markers

Example: Markers that affect an Acoustic Guitar can not be changed into markers that affect an Electric Piano using the surface OS features.

I found a surprisingly simple way to copy markers from one instrument to another, by using the way OS handles copy and pasting.

Step 1: Copy (ctrl+c) the markers you want to put onto another instrument

Step 2: Paste it into Google Docs (or any software that allows you to replace text with other text in one go, but I'm using google docs and explaining it for someone that uses that as well)

Step 3: Change any digit of the Onlinesequencer: (randomnumber) you see at the start of your pasted text. (doing this makes the sequence forget you pasted it from the sequence and allows all of this to work for some reason) (it will unfortunately make everything you paste end up at the start of your sequence, and there's also a clever way to do something about that, but all this text between brackets is getting a bit long now)

Step 4: press (ctrl+f) to search in document and press the 3 dots (more options) that appear along with that search bar.

Step 5: go to this wiki page: https://onlinesequencer.net/wiki/Instruments (it allows you to see instrument IDs)

Step 6: replace the instrument ID of the current instrument with the instrument ID of the instrument you want the markers to affect. (check to see if the amount of times the instrument ID has been found in the pasted text in google docs is the same as the amount of markers you copy and pasted, if there's a difference, you might accidentally be ALSO replacing an unrelated number within the pasted text that just so happens to be the same as the instrument ID.)

Step 7: copy and paste the text with the replaced instrument IDs back into Onlinesequencer and you should hopefully have the same markers but now for a different instrument.

Because I'm afraid that these steps might not have been entirely clear to people yet, so here's how I would follow these steps:

Following the steps:

I want these markers for the distorted guitar to be copied over to the 8-Bit Square instrument.
    1. I copy the markers
    2. I paste the markers in google docs which causes me to see this text.
    3. I change the Onlinesequencer:1026332 into a different number, (it doesn't matter what the number is as long as it's not the same)
    4. I press ctrl+f and this search will show up in the top right. I have to press the three dots to open more options.
    5. I search for the Distorted Guitar and I see '44' next to it, I also search for the 8-Bit Square and I see '14' next to it.
    6. I replace every '44' with '14' in the pasted text by pressing 'alles vervangen' which means 'replace all'
7. I paste the text with the replaced numbers into OS and now the markers from the distorted guitar have been copied and turned into 8-Bit Square.

I would've used 7 images but I there's an attachment limit of 5. I doubt anyone has every had been inconvenienced by the attachment limit yet. (okay, maybe one other person that exists solely for this not to be true)

You can also do this with instrument clones. Idk how to explain, but just copy and paste a marker from a clone into a text box and see what the ID shows up as.
