fate's asymptote
Placeholder Vocal Demo
https://vocaroo.com/1bqvydgWCPFh
Lyrics
the boundary that has been set in stone
another gate that i pass through alone
finding my truth just to prove that i've grown
rewrite my logic seeing the unknown
falling again and again to find them
all the things that will complete me again
i don't know where, don't know why, don't know when
i'll be content for a moment
in this faded dream, i died living a lie
(and to live everlasting is to never face the truth)
in recursion, i lost to time
(to what end do i have to resign myself for you)
just drifting away to the asymptote
(pulling at every string just to find a glimpse of light)
dreaming to shoot my heart past the limit that you once gave me
(to end the dream your heart pushed the limit just to save me)
now i'm in control
i'll take all my chances and go
(and i'll fly higher now)

I love the prog here!

It does feel a bit empty in the bass region, but that's probably my speakers.
I wish this went on for longer, it feels kind of unfinished.
The use of the guitars here I love, and the drum patterns are golden.
Vocals are very muddy, but it is a placeholder so I can't say muc hin that regard.
Lucent as always makes a wonderful sound, but a very weak and mediocre melody

can't you be a jackass elsewhere
like, there's quite a lot of things that make me feel miffed at this particular comment. first, if there's something you don't like about a sequence, then you're not obligated to listen to it. even if you do manage to listen in its entirety, you went out of your way to comment on something you didn't like.
moreover, i can understand that the internet is a free space to share criticism and that even half-hearted criticism would typically not bother me—but you went out of your way to initially frame my music as "wonderful" before harshly ending your statement on the negative.
regardless, i make all my music with specific intent and a final vision in mind, to which you—someone looking for some contrived and advanced musical spectacle—are evidently uninterested in. i do not aim to impress the likes of you, i only strive to make something that i am happy with.
i tried to be slightly positive in assuming that you're speaking out of a place with musical authority and that you could methodically elaborate more about your criticism—but even your magnum opuses are just subpar covers of popular songs that you've never had to write from scratch. please consider your words more before you comment anything like that again
@LucentTear: I am very glad that you approached my little comment so constructively. Perhaps you were offended by my statements. This is expected and not surprising. But to go into deep defense and reproach me for what I do in my profile is somewhat childish.
@LucentTear: I am pleased that you visited my profile, but seeing only covers in my repertoire, you did not want to delve into my work. Of course, this is not necessary, but if you plan to reproach me for doing only covers, listen to less flashy compositions and etudes, without stupid Thumbnails, which serve to attract attention.
i had no intent in hiding the fact that i was offended, hence my elaboration on what i found distasteful from this comment. depending on the sequence i am composing, it is only natural that i will prioritize certain aspects (instrumentation, harmony, lyrical quality) over others (lead melody, ambient embellishment, etc).
by criticizing an element that i've purposely drawn less attention to (and making it the main focus of your comment—whether done intentionally or not), i would consequently assume that you've overlooked the parts that i've spent more time and effort trying to perfect.
the mismatch of "where effort is acknowledged" is a regular thing that artists would be offended by, and is something that seems to have offended you as well. in retrospect, some of my assumptions were childish, but i chose to state them regardless of the criticism it would receive in the end.
@LucentTear: Thank you for understanding. I apologize. I did not mean to offend. Creative success to you.
