Kinda lost on how to go about the rest of the sounds at this time and need a breather from it, I'm really not that ambitious and respectfully have no idea how all you midi-musicians have the patience for sequencing these. You're all real ones!

(Though, I ask that you please don't genre-shift it, I was happy someone beat me to it  at first... only to find it was not a thing like the original! ; ; )

At 9 it starts getting repetitive, playing the exact same thing for a long time after that doesn't sound great. You also should stretchnotes to make each note an 8th note rather than a dotted 8th, it will make editing way easier.

What genre is this even supposed to be?

Yeah I stopped listening at measure 60 this sequence really sucks. My suggestion would be to not repeat the exact same thing on only a music box (or anything) for over 2 minutes. The melody has potential but when its actually used and not just copy and pasted a ton. I'd start over

With all due respect, I am in every sense a step-zero beginner in sequencing who is not looking nor expecting to make an absolute masterpiece, I am just looking to replicate something I like that does not have a MIDI that exists of it yet for use in a personal project. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but that is not what I've come to the collaborations subform for and was in every way unwarranted. If you had actually cared to give something constructive at all, you would have put in some research yourself or asked me what the song is to help understand what I may be going for even before I had added the source to the initial post.. instead of meet my post with nothing but passive aggression over statements like "What genre is this even supposed to be?"

If you expect others to start dipping their toes into sequencing for their first time, I would personally exercise some actual restraint in saying anything remotely disdainful that might crush a n00b's spirits, as what you demonstrated is an easy way to deter anyone from trying at all. I myself find I am disheartened from the "critique" (was it really?), and likely won't pick up another sequencing project myself again after this exchange.

Have a nice day!

Hurting your feelings isn't my intention when I provide honest feedback, I just value honest feedback a lot as its the best way to find out how to get better. Had I earlier known it was a cover I'd have told you that you could use smooth synth for the chords and synthesizer with distortion for the wind noise and riser, etc. but I didn't have that context earlier. I'd be happy to collaborate with you on this song and share my techniques if you'd like

As I had read this forum and listened to this sequence before, there was nowhere that stated this was a cover of an existing song, and with only the music box it doesn't really have enough context for people who do not know it was a cover to tell it is a cover. As I assumed it was an original song, I was unaware what genre you had potentially wanted to make it and thus is why I had asked that question, but since you now have added to the forum that it is in fact a cover of an existing song, things make a LOT more sense

Typically when people do covers I think they try to, or at least I try to create each phrase in order rather than each instrument part, so like say they work on measures 1 to 8 for every instrument, and then go on to 8 to 16, and so on. If you prefer doing each instrument seperately though maybe let people know in the forum next time so people don't listen to a part repeated for a very long time as they will expect some more variation and this could be annoying for them if they do not know
