Ok thanks for the explanation, but she said she never used the chat (she says she clicked on it once to see what it was, but hasn't deliberately interacted with anyone there), only the comments on sequences. Is it possible to unmute her for comments so she can respond to comments on her sequences, and to leave the ban in place for the chat window? (I had told her anyway not to use the chat window.) I don't know if it's possible for you to view her comment history but I'm sure it was respectful, she's quite mature. Thanks.

I don't think that's possible because comments is basically the same code for chat so it will not be possible to be muted in chat but Unmuted in comments
