Part The Flame
This is My second submission for the 2025 May Monthly Contest
He smirked behind the metal face-plate of his helm as the wall of flame barreled towards him.
He fell into a low stance the instant before the inferno reached him, and his armor creaked and groaned as the heat washed over him. Cloth and leather burned, but he did not flinch.
He held his ground, and then the flame itself yielded, parting before him as if split by an invisible wedge. He calmly stood straight again, still smoking, but he was the master of the flame now.
Never expected this one to win, just tossed it in as an afterthought.
