Contrast
My entry for the June 2025 monthly contest.
Contrast is used in art of all kinds- from making things stand out in pictures, to having two wildly different characters in the same story to give perspective.
The tricky part is having the elements contrast, but still work together without being mutually undermining. This might best be achieved with an intermediary element to interface with both.
The Bass Guitar (and overlapping instruments) and the synth work as the base layer to keep the distortion guitar and the more orchestral instruments working together.
In this there is contrast, but also gradient, leastways that's how I think of it.
Reminder (just for me): don't tinker with after 21/6/2025
